Hello and welcome to my very first blog!!
How exciting! If your anything like me, you're probably wondering why? Why would someone put their life out there? The simple answer is I hope that by me sharing my life expeirence others know that they are not alone.
Let me be clear, My personal trauma is just that. Mine. Everybody's trauma will effect them differently whether big or small. Whether it was trauma that happened to you or you witnessed a whole lot of bad things. Trauma is trauma. No ifs and or butts. It hurts. It can manifest into anxiety, PTSD, depression, it can also hit you after you have a baby. Post partum depression (in my opinion) is one of thee hardest depressions to understand. I'll tell you why.
You just had a baby! This is suppose to be thee best time of your life. Baby snuggles, a new love that was at first sight, and a new journey for your life! However for some reason it isn't and you don't know why. You may feel bad about your body. You may not be connected to your baby like other moms on social media. You may cry or be mad 24/7. You just feel so out of it. Or you may be over worried something bad might happen to your new addition. You may be so worried you don't sleep. You might feel guilty that you arent able to breastfeed. There are so many things in life after birth that can effect us. Not just the hormones from popping out a baby, but the trauma we lived through and thought we had solved. Those that have had childhood trauma, and adult trauma are at a greater risk to develop postpartum depression and post partum anxiety. It can also come out of nowhere. You could of had a great childhood and a great adulthood so far and still get hit with the ppd train. It is an unexpected aspect of our lives that we need to "deal" with. It isnt just that simple though. You can't just flip a switch and be fixed.
Through out this journey on my next phase of life. Im going to break down my trauma starting from the beggining. I will also walk through my experience on postpartum anxiety and how instill deal with it 3 years later!
Join me for the ride, subscribe so you can see when I post my next blog!
Love,
Danielle
